Longview Home - Wellington
Longview Home provides residential care for older people in Wellington, in a warm and comforting environment. Wide corridors, spacious rooms and intimate courtyards give Longview a very homely feel. The home is set amongst large, pleasant grounds with panoramic views across Tawa.
Longview Home is currently under going refurbishment to better cater for your needs. The new configuration will include 30 hospitals beds and 30 Rest Home beds. This refurbishment is expected to be completed by December 2008.
Recreation programme
Our residents enjoy a stimulating programme of activities and outings, including:
- arts and crafts
- indoor bowls
- cooking
- sing-a-longs
- reading groups
- church services in our chapel.
Day Activity Programme
One day a week we welcome non-residents to take part in stimulating activities at Longview and enjoy lunch with our residents.
Rest Home
Moving into residential care can be a positive decision for everyone concerned. Our Rest Home supports older people who cannot manage at home. Enabling you to maintain your independence and privacy in home-like surroundings is our goal.
Hospital care
We have 25 beds offering full hospital care from registered nurses and qualified support staff.
Respite care
Respite care allows carers of older people to recharge their batteries. We'll look after your loved one while you rest for as long as you need. It's a flexible service to suit your needs.
Respite care may be funded by your local District Health Board or you can arrange it directly with us and pay for it privately.
Convalescence
We can look after older people as they recover from surgery or illness. Our registered nurses and trained support staff provide meals and help with personal care for as long as it's required. This can be in our Home or yours.

Accessing any of our services is easy and worry-free. You can be referred by a needs assessment agency or your doctor, or you can call us directly. Enliven will fit around your requirements - all you need to do is ask.
