Woburn Home is set among beautiful grounds only minutes from the centre of Lower Hutt. We are extremely proud of our 40 year history of providing wonderful care for the elderly in Wellington.
We have 42 single rooms providing care and support in a comfortable, homely environment. Our dedicated staff support residents in maintaining their preferred lifestyles and independence in a home-like environment.
We encourage residents to stay involved with their community, whether it's visiting their favourite hairdresser or attending their Marae or RSA club. We offer regular church services or residents can visit their own church. We even welcome most pets.
Recreation activities
Woburn residents enjoy a varied range of stimulating activities, including:
- arts and crafts
- indoor bowls
- piano recitals, sing-a-longs and music therapy
- Tai chi
- hand massage
- music therapy.
Rest Home
Moving into residential care can be a positive decision for everyone concerned. Our Rest Home supports older people who cannot manage at home. Enabling you to maintain your independence and privacy in home-like surroundings is our goal.
Hospital care
We have 43 beds where residents can receive hospital-level care from compassionate and qualified staff. Woburn Home works with local GPs to ensure our clients' medical needs are met and residents may choose to retain a relationship with their own GP if this is practical.
Dementia care
We have 25 beds offering extra special care and attention for residents with dementia. At Woburn Home we look beyond the diagnosis and treat people as individuals, recognising their life experiences. We have the resources and networks to ensure the best possible quality of life of all concerned.
Our care for people with dementia includes safe, peaceful environments that foster companionship with other residents. We offer a varied and meaningful recreation programme that includes regular outings and close contact with community groups including the local Alzheimer's Association.
Day Activity Programme
Older people who do not live with us are welcome to enjoy our services and facilities on a day to day basis. Enjoy lunch and meet like-minded people in a warm and friendly environment.
Respite care
Respite care allows carers of older people to recharge their batteries. We'll look after your loved one while you rest for as long as you need. It's a flexible service to suit your needs.
Respite care may be funded by your local District Health Board or you can arrange it directly with us and pay for it privately.
Rental flats
We have 12 rental flats offering residents full independence with the comfort of knowing help is nearby if they need it.

Accessing any of our services is easy and worry-free. You can be referred by a needs assessment agency or your doctor, or you can call us directly. Enliven will fit around your requirements - all you need to do is ask.
